Finally it’s here.
As some might know, Microsoft has started a test i Sweden with Messenger/Hotmail for Nokia’s Series60 (3rd edition) phones like Nokia E65, Nokai N73, Nokia N80, N95 etc. For some reason, only Sweden was included in this test, but now the installation files are here for download and installation on YOUR phone.
To install the programs, download this ZIP-file to your computer, which contains the installationfiles (dep.sisx and WindowsLive.sis) for both Messenger, Hotmail, Contacts and more.Extract this file to a temporary folder on your PC, and then run the dep.sisx file first, and afterwards run the WindowsLive.sis file.
After this, you will now have a Windows Live inbox in your Messages, and in your programlist you will now be able to run Messenger. In your phonebook, you can now tap right and you will see a list of your Windows Live contacts, and if you are online on Messenger while browsing these, you will even be able to see who are online and who are not!
I have here included an image showing various details of the programs (click the thumbnail for a larger preview). The image isn’t mine, but since I don’t know who created it, I can’t give it any credit either.

Is it necessary to run the dep.sisx file first? What if you just want messenger and not the hotmail email?
I haven’t tried actually, but I’ll give it a shot in a moment.
Okay, I did a little testing.
The dep.sisx file makes it possible to start up and connect the Messenger client. If I just installed the WindowsLive.sis without having the dep.sisx installed, I wasn’t able to run the Messenger client at all.
Also, the live Hotmail feature is installed via the WindowsLive.sis package, and doesn’t come from the dep.sisx.
Odd… I got it to work on the N73 with no problems, but it when installing the dep.sisx I get an “update error” message.

I cant get this to work on my n70. Is that because it doesnt run 3rd edition or am i doing something wrong? when trying to install my phone tells me that the file is damaged. Anyone know if it is possible for me to install this on N70?

IF your haveing a phone from a 3 you have to delete the old file first and install the new one or els the update error occurs
i want windows live messenger for nokia n70. from where can i get that. plz help me….
This Messenger client is only for Series60 3rd phones, and I think the N70 isn’t running that version of the operating system. Where to find a Messenger client for that phone I don’t know, sorry.
I always that I try to connect to Windows Live Messenger through my N80 and always shows “Messenger is not available right now. Please try again later”. I want to know if this service will work in a future. Thanks

…or mayby not the excact same problem but a simular one at least. I get the following message on my screen: “An error accured with the Windows Live-ID-service. Try again later”. I have a Nokia N95.

No that shouldn’t be a problem Steve. As far as I know, all WLM installations on PC’s that were of a sudden version or lower, were forced to update or else they wouldn’t run. My guess is that you might need a newer version installed.

Hey Adil. As far as I know, only Series 60 (3rd edition) is supported in regards of this Windows Live Suite, other phones like your N70 (2nd edition) isn’t supported.
